The chapters in the book along with relevant speeches, songs and poetry capture the predicament and problems of Indian farmers who literally find themselves at the interstices of inclusionary and exclusionary spaces. At the same time, the book also serves to draw parallels with the glorious tradition and legacy of the Sikh Gurus who dedicated their life to farming and stayed deeply connected with the soil and plough. The title cover of the book, in keeping with the book’s spirit shows a semblance of Guru Nanak Dev Ji who spent 18 years of his life farming in Kartarpur (Pakistan).
